Jung Moo Hap Ki Do has six new Black Belts!

Today six dedicated Hapkidoin celebrated “Earth” Day by hitting each other with it! They started out taking their turn in the dynamic spirit circle, defending against their fellow candidates and black belts as they repeatedly attacked with punches, kicks, grabs and holds. In addition to empty hand, they defended against edged weapons, clubs and bats. They each went three rounds! The third round they demonstrated their knowledge and proficiency with their locking concepts, blindfolded.

After that segment was completed successfully, they demonstrated their accuracy, speed, control and focus in their striking and kicking skills by completing their required braking techniques. Everyone broke boards and some even broke concrete.

After being awarded their Black Belts, things got emotional as they expressed their gratitude to their families by presenting them with a rose and a solemn bow. Not sure if there were any dry eyes in the dojang at that moment.

A special mention to Black Belt John D. He EARNED a Black Belt in Hap Ki Do today at the tender age of 82! And he was amazing! Pictures and video to follow!
