At Jung Martial Arts Family Center (JMAFC), we preserve and teach Korean martial arts as they were intended, with authentic technique, cultural tradition, and a clear philosophical foundation. We are proud of our direct lineage and our responsibility to pass on the genuine concepts, methods, and values of our HapKiDo family with integrity and care.
JMAFC is not a martial sport club or a neighborhood gym. We are an accredited Korean Martial Arts educational center where students learn far more than physical skills. Our aim is to develop capable, respectful martial artists, and stronger people, through disciplined training, thoughtful instruction, and a welcoming community.
HapKiDo is effective self defense, and it is also a journey of personal growth and lifelong learning. Students at JMAFC develop:
Practical self defense skill built on sound mechanics and responsible application
Discipline and confidence through consistent training and achievable goals
Respect and character shaped by tradition, etiquette, and leadership development
Cultural connection through Korean terminology, history, and martial heritage
Calm focus under pressure supported by mindfulness and meditation practices
Whether you are stepping onto the mat for the first time or continuing advanced training, you will find structured instruction, high standards, and a community that encourages you to become your best.
Our instructors emphasize the educational depth of martial arts alongside physical training. Students are guided to understand not only what to do, but why it works, through the martial sciences and the realities of self defense. Training includes:
Physical conditioning and coordination
Physiology, understanding how the body responds to stress and conflict
Psychology, improving awareness, decision making, and self control
Meditation and mindful practice, strengthening calmness and clarity of spirit
This approach builds martial artists who are capable, grounded, and respectful, in the dojang and in daily life.
A black belt is not a teaching license. It represents a student who has completed the color belt ranks and built a foundation for deeper learning. Teaching requires additional training, evaluation, accountability, and a commitment to professional standards.
At JMAFC, classes are led by internationally certified instructors and apprentice instructors who meet clear qualifications and are trained to teach correctly. Our instructor team and black belt holders are proud members of the Korea Hapkido Federation, supporting ongoing standards, authenticity, and ethical instruction.
To protect students, preserve the art, and uphold professional integrity, JMAFC instructors meet high requirements, including:
JMAFC is a place where students are known, encouraged, and supported. We welcome families and individuals who want real martial arts, taught with purpose, and guided by values that matter. If you are looking for authentic Korean martial arts training that develops confidence, discipline, and character, we would be honored to train with you.
